Leaders and Mentors Help People Create Better Choices

This is raw footage, so the language is a little “colorful,” but I think you’ll find the video compelling. Tony talks about the importance of mentors in our lives (including his own mentor, Jim Rohn), and how leaders help people create more and better choices.

Tony wants to start a quality conversation about leadership.

I’m sure you’d agree that today, more than ever, the world needs true leaders. But I think we first need to get clear on what real leadership is!

We’d love to hear your thoughts on leadership and mentors. What kind of leadership does the world need today? What leaders have made an impact in your life? We will be reading the posts and commenting on them as often as we can.

As you’ll tell from this clip, Tony’s passionate about this subject, as am I. I’m jazzed to share this brand-new video with you and to hear the thoughts of leaders like you!

We will be having a Leadership Webinar Series leading up to our upcoming Leadership Academy: Boot Camp event in San Diego to discuss what it takes to be a great leader. The first webinar is on Tuesday, August 10th at 2pm and we would love for you to join to discuss the lack of effective leadership in the world today, and how you can master Tony’s cutting-edge Psychology of Leadership that will help you make a significant difference in your life and the lives of others.

  3. The leaders in my life are people I respect. And they are only leaders for me if I can see that I can do what they are doing. They have a quality about them that says that “You can do it, too.” So many people are doing great things, but the people who see them do not think they have what the great person has. There are many ways to let a person know that they can have it, too, and there are many ways (even accidentally) to convey a message that “Damn I’m good, I’m unique, and good luck at getting this.” As a leader, you have to be aware of and responsible for the comparisons (stories) people make up about themselves in relationship to you.

  4. I believe we must begin by leading from within. It all starts from us. We must generate the confidence and power to lead ourselves before we can attempt to lead others. To lead ourselves (as the Bible says) from temptation. To lead ourselves with discipline. To lead ourselves to set our standards. As we do this, we will naturally inspire (& therefore lead) the people that are tuned in to wanting to grow, by our example without having to command others to follow.

  6. The best definition of leadership was one I heard a number of years ago form Sarah Weddington (Wade VS Roe). Sarah said leadership was looking out into our communties and organizations and seeing what is wrong and being willing to put our thumb print on it. I love that analogy.

  7. Paying it forward by sharing mentors guidance and paying it forward by sharing our successful paths through life’s challenges are helpful to more than we ever know. Always, do the right thing, it can be that simple

  8. Wow! Right Tony, We’d better tell the empowering story of our life in our everyday conversation if there’s any chance of pointing others towards making better choices in their life. That’s what I’m striving for and I heard my “atta-girl” in this video clip. As usual, Thank you!

  9. Because our world seems to be going through such a massive shift, many are focusing not only on loss but on fear. Many people are paralyzed by fear instead of rising to the challenge of change. One of the things that was so helpful to me, that I got from attending Tony’s programs and share to the best of my ability is the concept of “staying resourceful”. Keeping myself in a resourceful state is a key component to leadership, I do my best to lead by example.
